Hello! Welcome to Synology Web Station!
The Web Station service is enabled. You can now create you own website on DiskStation. Please follow steps below to build, and publish your website online.
- Log in to DiskStation Manager, and go to Privileges > Shared Folder. Assign user privileges for accessing the web shared folder.
- (Create web pages, and) Upload your pages to the web shared folder.
- Make sure the homepage of your website is named index.php, index.htm, or index.html.
- Connect to http://servername/ with a web browser to view your website.
To publish your website and make it available for people on the Internet, you need to set your DiskStation to use an external IP address.
- Use a web browser to connect to http://servername:5000/.
- Log in to management UI of your DiskStation.
- To make DiskStation accessible on the Internet, do one of the following:
- Use the EZ-Internet wizard:
- Click the Home button (with the house icon) at the top-left corner of the management UI to go to the Home page. Click Wizard Mode at the top-right corner if you are in Complete Mode.
- Click EZ-Internet on the Home page, and follow the wizard to complete the setup.
- Use the advanced settings:
- Set up network configuration:
- An external IP. Go to System > Network to edit your DiskStation's network settings if you receive a specific external IP address from your network service provider.
- The PPPoE settings. Go to System > PPPoE to enable PPPoE connection If your DiskStation is connecting to a DSL or cable modem, and your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
uses PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet).
- If you wish to use a registered DDNS account, go to the "Network Services > DDNS" page to enable the DDNS service.
- Finished!
Now, people on the Internet can browse through your website by connecting to http://serverIP/ or http://DDNS_hostname/ with a web browser. For more details on how to access your DiskStation from the Internet, please click here.
